Abby Connect’s CEO Nathan Strum’s entrepreneurial journey began early, learning the ropes of business alongside his parents, Gail and Jeff. From running a private charter airline to operating multiple bagel shops, the Strum family emphasized hands-on involvement and a strong work ethic, teaching their son the importance of dedication and respect in business.

In 2005, with a passion for innovation, the Strums launched TelAssistant, a receptionist service designed to support business owners with professional call answering. What started as a simple call-handling solution quickly evolved to include virtual receptionists and office space services, with a focus on customer connections and service excellence.

Gail, Nathan’s mother and the company’s first receptionist, set the standard for outstanding customer service. By building strong relationships with clients and going the extra mile, she helped drive customer loyalty and referrals—principles that would become the foundation of the company’s success.

In 2014, the company rebranded as Abby Connect, emphasizing its mission to make meaningful connections between businesses and their callers.
